Toronto Little Italy & Corso Italia: Food, Culture & Community

Toronto has two distinct Italian neighbourhoods offering different flavours of the city's multicultural character. College Street's Little Italy is the trendier incarnation — a strip of Italian restaurants, wine bars, and cafes that hosts the city's World Cup viewing parties and summer patio culture. Bar Raval on College is widely regarded as Toronto's most beautiful bar, a Gaudí-inspired wood-carved masterpiece serving pintxos and natural wine. Corso Italia on St. Clair West is more residential and authentic — descendants of Toronto's original Italian immigrants still gather at Café Diplomatico for espresso and butchers and bakeries unchanged in decades. Both neighbourhoods celebrate Ferragosto in August.
